Monday's crawl takes us on a LIVE! look into the Center for Sacramento History, a guided VIP tour within the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park's Wah Hop Store, a pleasing trip through the world class facility known as the California State Archives stacks, and via various archival entry points in the Sacramento Public Library's Sacramento Room, the events that have faced down Sacramento throughout its post-European contact history, including the Influenza Pandemic of 1918/1919, the Great Depression, World War II, and the Cold War.
The Sacramento Archives Crawl is an Archives Month event held every October. Crawlers tour among four host archives in Sacramento, gathering stamps in their passports as they view treasures from dozens of archives and special collections libraries, visit with archivists, and go on special behind-the-scenes tours. The 2024 Crawl will be held on Saturday, October 5, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Central Library, State Library, State Archives, and Center for Sacramento to History.
