In addition, several vendors will be set up at Central Library (828 I Street, Sacramento), giving expert demonstrations on preserving everything from old photos to books. The complete list of demonstrations will be posted here soon.
The Sacramento Archives Crawl is an Archives Month event held every October. Crawlers tour among four host archives in Sacramento, gathering stamps in their passports as they view treasures from dozens of archives and special collections libraries, visit with archivists, and go on special behind-the-scenes tours. The 2024 Crawl will be held on Saturday, October 5, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Central Library, State Library, State Archives, and Center for Sacramento to History.

New Archives Crawl bookmarks have arrived
Visit your local Sacramento archives soon to pick up our new Sacramento Archives Crawl bookmark! The bookmarks feature a historical panoramic photograph of the old California State Fairgrounds on Stockton Blvd., ca. 1910, from the collections of the California State Archives. Bookmarks will be available at participating repositories leading up to the big day and will be included in crawlers' bags on October 5.

Driving: Free parking is available at the California State Archives (1020 O Street) and the Center for Sacramento History (551 Sequoia Pacific Blvd.). The California State Library (900 N Street) is within easy walking distance of the California State Archives. Free parking near the Central Library (828 I Street) is available in the Jury Parking lot at 8th and G Streets. Convenient street and garage parking is available at many locations downtown for a fee.

Preview this year's passport
The 2012 Archives Crawl passport is now ready to preview here. Printed copies will be available at every host location on the day of the crawl and include a map showing the locations of each host site and a directory of participating archives. Get your passport stamped by at least three of the four locations and you will take home an attractive set of commemorative coasters featuring images of Sacramento landmarks.
