The Sacramento Archives Crawl is an Archives Month event held every October. Crawlers tour among four host archives in Sacramento, gathering stamps in their passports as they view treasures from dozens of archives and special collections libraries, visit with archivists, and go on special behind-the-scenes tours. The 2024 Crawl will be held on Saturday, October 5, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Central Library, State Library, State Archives, and Center for Sacramento to History.

K-12 scavenger hunt for iPad Mini 3s
This year’s Archives Crawl will feature a “History Scavenger Hunt,”
where K-12 students answer questions about the documents and artifacts
on display at the four crawl locations. Those correctly answering ten of
the clues are then eligible
to enter a drawing for a chance to win two iPad Mini 3s, one for a K-5
student and another for a 6-12 student. The scavenger hunt is sponsored
by
Yellow Cab of Sacramento. Entries must be submitted by 4 p.m. at
the Center for Sacramento History; full contest rules and instructions
will be available in the official Archives Crawl passport. Be sure to
pick one up when you start your crawl!
Thank you to our sponsors!
The 2015 Sacramento Archives Crawl is made possible through the generous support of the sponsors listed below. This support went toward printing passports and coasters, securing bus transport between locations, and providing goodies for our prize drawing basket. Thank you!

Powered by the Past
Planning has already begun on the 2015 Archives Crawl, our fifth annual event! The 2015 theme is "Powered by the Past" and we're looking to make this year even bigger and better for crawlers. Do you have any suggestions for us (participating archives, transportation, passports, prizes, etc.)? Leave your thoughts in the comments and we'll bring it up at our next meeting.
The 2015 Sacramento Archives Crawl committee pauses for a semi-candid shot. |
